The Power of Fresh Paint: Foyer Edition

One of the best (and most affordable) ways to make a big impact on improving your home is simply with fresh paint. The power of fresh paint always amazes me. Fresh paint truly can transform any room and make it feel brand new. And the best part is, it doesn't cost much to do it.

One of our recent paint projects was our foyer and stairs. Before painting, it was a dirty looking beige/yellow color that was painted with a cheap flat paint. Any little mark on the wall ruined the paint (this is why I usually always use a semi-gloss finish). However, we did already have beautiful wainscoting on the walls (which I love!) but they needed a little TLC too. Here are some before shots...

It's a small space so I wanted to brighten it up with all white walls and freshen up the white wainscoting too. We went with Ultra White Pure Semi-Gloss by Behr from Home Depot. I really love how it turned out. Here are some after shots:

We still need to pull up the carpet, re-do the wood floors and put in a new railing. But it's really coming along. We also hung up these great matte frames from the Studio McGee x Target collaboration, which you can shop here.

We also got rid of our old chandelier and replaced it with this beautiful art deco one from One Kings Lane. I really love how it turned out! Still has a ways to go in this area (carpet has to go!), but as I mentioned earlier, it's amazing the difference the paint alone made!

If you want to give your home a breathe of fresh air, consider updating the paint. You will be so glad you did! Let me know if you have any painting questions.
